A Croxley schoolgirl has scooped a top trophy at a county-wide performing arts festival.
Jessica Rechitean is a pupil at Croxley Danes School and recently took part in the Watford Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. This local event has been taking place annually for more than 70 years and sees people of all ages perform in the areas of drama, music and public speaking. Prizes are awarded to the winner in each category.
Jessica performed in the speech and drama category, which took place across two venues from February 26 to March 12, before concluding with the final at Watford Grammar School for Boys on March 26.
Jessica overcame the pressure of performing on her own in front of a large audience and was named the winner of the Drama Trophy in the Solo Acting (Not Shakespeare) category for Years 7 to 9.
A spokesperson for Croxley Danes School said: “We are incredibly proud of Jessica’s achievements!”
