The start of the year proved a happy one for Pumpkin’s Wildlife Hospital in Rickmansworth, after it was chosen as one of the nominated charities in the Waitrose & Partners Community Matters Green Token scheme.
Customers can support causes close to their hearts by placing green tokens in voting stations across the country.
Each year, Community Matters donates £4 million to volunteer-run local charities, helping them continue their work in the community.
Speaking to RICKYnews, trustee, Sarah said: “Pumpkin’s Wildlife Hospital is ecstatic to have been chosen as one of the charities at Waitrose Rickmansworth for the January to March period.
“We really appreciate the community support for our charity in the local area. If we are successful, this donation will help us to care for more animals.
“It will soon be fox cub season. Last year, we had over 30 orphaned cubs to look after and successfully released them once they were approximately six months old. This money would help us care for more young cubs.”
