An Abbots Langley resident says a new delivery service has left him losing sleep, after newspapers began arriving as early as 3am on the estate where he lives.
As reported in last month’s ABBOTSnews, Morrisons Daily has decided to end its long-running network of paper boys and girls across the country.
Since NewsTeam Ltd have taken over, papers have now reportedly been dropped off to some residents as early as 3am.
Frederick, who has lived on the estate for years, said that the move has disrupted mornings, as well as removing a source of income for young people.
Speaking to ABBOTSnews, Frederick said: “For many, the job was a bit of pocket money. I feel sorry for them as it’s a shame.”
Jon Kennett, managing director for NewsTeam Ltd, said: “We provide an early morning newspaper delivery service as that is what our customers expect. I am not sure how that could be achieved in any other way than delivering newspapers early in the morning. Our deliverers are asked to be considerate and quiet when making their deliveries.”
