The Croxley Guild Cricket Club have launched a fundraiser to help replace their cricket pitch after it was damaged.
Although a temporary repair has been made, it is not enough, so the club are now hoping to raise £6,000 to reverse the damage vandalism has caused.
Danny Dallas, captain of the cricket team, said that the damage is a big loss to the club as a lot of people are relying on the pitch.
He said: “It’s not usable, it’s dangerous and it means the local cricket club can’t play.
“Without the replacement we can’t play, and we have got a lot of people relying on it, not just the players but the supporters as well who have a nice day out watching us.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise the £6,000 required to properly repair the pitch and has raised over £100 so far in the 13 hours it has been active.
