A new pub that opened in Berkhamsted on Thursday, July 25 has been working with local businesses and schools to provide opportunities for children.
The Old Mill, which can be found on London Road, is a family-run pub that prises itself on its on-site, ethically sourced meals.
The independent pub is owned by Vik Morgan, who is supported by his daughter Cat as general manager.
Though they hold a range of events for adults, from Quiz Clubs to Wine Wednesday, the pub is also focused on providing opportunities for local children.
This month, the pub has plans to install a new adventure playground as a way of also appealing to young customers.
Working closely alongside local school Tringate, the pub is also planning ways to continue supporting children.
In December, they will be bringing magic to town by hosting a children’s breakfast with Santa.
Throughout the summer, they also helped out families with a Kids Eat Free offer, which they extended into September over the bank holiday.
Cat shared with BerkoNews: “We want to share a heartfelt thank you to everyone coming to visit and recommending us. Without the community there is no business.
“We want people to feel they don’t have to come here with friends and family, everyone is part of the family.”
