£100,000 TARGET: St Albans pop-up shop set to reopen in a bid to raise vital funds for charity

Published on: 1st December 2020   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

After having to prematurely shut its pop-up shop to members of the public, Cards For Good Causes will be reopening its doors in St Albans when lockdown comes to an end on Wednesday, December 2.

The month of November is usually vital for raising funds for charity and Cards For Good Causes hope the local community will support them during December, so that they can recoup some of the £100,000 lost revenue that would have benefited so many charities this year.

Customers can browse hundreds of Christmas card designs, as well as gifts and wrapping paper.

The pop-up shop will also abide by COVID-19 restrictions with a socially distanced one-way system, hand sanitizer and other measures to help keep everyone safe.

Patricia Kataria, manager for St Albans Cards for Good Causes said the team are happy to be welcoming back customers.

She said: “2020 has been an incredibly difficult time but we are so grateful to have our local community behind us and can’t wait to welcome everyone back on the December 2.

“After November’s devastating closure, we hope to raise as much as possible of the £100,000 in the remaining weeks that we would normally raise each year so that our charities can get the vital funding that they so desperately need this year.

“With so many charity cards and gifts to choose from, we hope customers will feel that they are getting a little of that Christmas Market feel whilst also raising money for charity at the same time.”

The pop-up shop can be found at: The Lower Hall, Dagnall Street Baptist Church, Upper Dagnall Street, St Albans, AL3 5EE and is open Monday to Friday 10am till 4pm and Saturday from 10am till 5pm.
