Hillingdon Council’s Queens Walk Resource Centre in Ruislip, which provides support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

On Wednesday, August 14, centre users and their families, along with past and present staff, celebrated the milestone with a party.

Guests enjoyed refreshments, games and the Summer Frolics sing-along show performed by Rah Rah Theatre. There was also an exhibition of artwork created by centre users, and a display on the history of Queens Walk.

Since it opened in 2014, the centre has developed a wide range of events designed to support and encourage creativity and self-expression.

Councillor Jane Palmer, Hillingdon Council’s cabinet member for health and social care, said: “It was wonderful to see the celebrations for the centre’s milestone anniversary with residents who benefit from our fantastic facility, their families, and our dedicated staff who work so hard to make a difference.

“We are committed to creating thriving, healthy communities and the centre helps us do that by providing valuable personalised support to residents who need it the most.”
