Junior golfers from Bushey Country Club could not believe their luck when they attended the final day of the British Masters at The Grove last month. Golfing dreams came true on Sunday, October 16, when a special trip was arranged by The Golf Foundation and England Golf, as well as Bushey Golf Academy for those on an inclusive programme. A fun day of sporting activities awaited the 63 guests as they rubbed shoulders with some of the finest professionals in the world. The group were even interviewed in front of millions of Sky TV viewers as they caught the attention of presenters on the day. One star in particular was Bushey resident Matt Clarke, a keen golfer on the inclusive coaching programme, who stole the show after holing a fantastic putt of 54 feet and winning a set of Titleist golf balls. Lee Williams, golf department manager at Bushey Country Club, said: “All our Bushey stars were thrilled with the attention from the professionals who have been tweeting and retweeting about their experiences since meeting our group.” He went on to say that this was proof that golf is a great sport for improving life skills and added that everyone is welcome at the club.
