An evening celebrating the music of Carole King and James Taylor will be taking place in Abbots Langley.

Taking place on Friday December 1, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ is an evening honouring two iconic songwriters’ music. It takes the audience on a journey from the early days of Carole’s career, co-writing with her partner Gerry Goffin, to her later work with James Taylor. Throughout the show there are stories to accompany the songs as well as a video presentation.

Rebecca Turner is a singer/songwriter from London. She has performed in many venues across London and the UK and has often been compared to Carole King because of her songwriting style and performance. She is a huge fan of both Carole King and James Taylor and is delighted to bring their songs to life in this fabulous show.

Rebecca is a recording artist in her own right and has worked as a session musician for many well-regarded musicians. She has recorded an album of original songs recently with Wendell Richardson of Osibisa.

Michael Goulding will be performing the songs of James Taylor in this show. He is an accomplished guitarist and singer and is currently playing George Harrison in a successful tribute show for The Trembling Wilburys. He is also a songwriter and has performed in theatres and clubs across London.

Michael and Rebecca are joined by bassist and singer Tony Hammond, a professional player who plays in several local bands and has a wealth of experience on the stage.

On drums is Howard Tibble, former drummer for The Shakin’ Stevens band, who has performed with countless recording artists including Cliff Richard. One of his claims to fame is that he was the drummer on Monty Python’s ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’.

The show begins at 8pm and tickets cost £10.
