Fourteen students from SIMAC School of Mind Body & Spirit, which has a branch in Hillingdon, are preparing to represent Team GB at a major international competition this summer.
These martial artists have been selected to compete at the International European Martial Arts competition later this year in August 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
The group, aged between seven and 16, includes experienced competitors and newcomers, all of whom have earned their place through dedication and hard work.
Several members of the team previously competed at the World Martial Arts Games in Oslo last November.
There they delivered an impressive performance, securing eight silver medals, four bronze medals and three belts for Team GB.
This year, they will be joined by additional teammates as they prepare to take on Europe’s best.
Nadia Hussain mother of one of the students said: “These young competitors have trained tirelessly, honing their techniques and building their confidence under the guidance of their esteemed instructors.
“Their journey is a testament to hard work and determination and they are ready to make their mark at the International European Martial Arts Championships.”
The trip is entirely self-funded, with families raising money to cover travel and expenses.
