Published on: 14th January 2025   |   By: Ellie Rose   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives in the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information about a road traffic collision on the A1(M), after a woman sadly died.

The collision happened at around 2pm on Thursday, January 2, near to Junction 8 on the A1(M) northbound carriageway, involving a pink Kia Picanto and a white Peugeot Boxer lorry.

Sadly, the Kia driver, a woman aged in her 80s, died on Monday, January 6, having sustained injuries in the collision.

Detective Constable Walker said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision on Thursday, January 2. There was heavy traffic in the area at the time due to a road closure at Junction 9 following a separate incident. I am hopeful that the busy traffic means that there are witnesses out there who can help.

“If anyone has dashcam footage that can assist our enquiries, please upload it via herts.police.uk/dashcamupload

“Our thoughts remain with the family of the woman at this difficult time.”

You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Op Pickard.
