WIMBLEDON BOUND: Young Radlett tennis star headed to Wimbledon for national final

After making his way through the county tennis finals, 12-year-old Radlett Tennis Club star Noah Sperry will be playing for the national title at Wimbledon.

Noah has taken part in the Play Your Way to Wimbledon competition, the UK’s largest individual mass-participation tennis competition. To reach the national final, Noah won his individual club event, then smashed the county finals at Queenswood Tennis Centre.

He will now face all the other county winners at the national final, on Sunday, August 6, which will take place at the world-renowned Wimbledon grounds. Noah will play on the same court as legends such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic.

Chris Martin, head tennis coach at Radlett Tennis Club and Noah’s mentor, spoke to Radlett News about his student and said: “He’s an absolute dream to coach. He has one individual lesson a week, which isn’t much compared to the other players, but he’s doing really well. He’s an extremely hard worker.”
