Having spent the last few years moving and establishing themselves at new premises in Stockers Farm, the team at CW Wildlife Rescue will being inviting the public to see their work in their first ever Open Day in June.

The charity, founded out of his home by animal lover Chris Wicks in 2014, works as a rescue and rehabilitation centre for wild animals who are sick or injured, complete with enclosures for those unable to be released and an ambulance service.

Relying only on public donations and the 50 volunteers who give their time to help out at the centre, the centre is now much-loved local fixture. They’re currently focusing on releasing their many hedgehogs back into the wild, having been rehabilitated, and on the upcoming fox cub season.

The Open Day will be a chance for members of the public to see the work the charity does in person. On the day, Saturday, June 11, there will be the chance to take a pre-bookable tour of the centre for £5.

There will also be over 30 stalls offering vegetarian food, events for juniors and other items for sale. All the stallholders will be local businesses who sell eco-friendly and sustainable products.

For those who wish to find out more about the charity, visit their Facebook page at @CWWildliferescue, or to pre-book a tour please email at fundraising@cwwildlife.com.
