A local author has used her fellow U3A (University of the Third Age) members as character inspiration for her new murder mystery book, Who Killed Emerald Isacson?.
Chalfonts U3A member Denise Beddows, who is the author of a bestselling series of espionage novels as well as some local histories and true crime books, is now trying her hand at cosy crime.
In the book, Carole Murray’s U3A friends don’t know she’s a former intelligence officer, but they do know a good murder mystery when they see one. Carole and her U3A friends have no idea that their determination to solve a historic local murder will lead them into danger.
Talking to CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews, Denise said: “I realised I need look no further than my local U3A membership for inspiring characters, many of whom have a lifetime of skills, experience and an unerring ability to problem solve.”
Who Killed Emerald Isacson? is the first in the Misbourne Murder Mystery series of 10 books, featuring unsolved crimes, mysteries, and legends from local villages and towns.
Chiltern Books have arranged a book signing to promote the book at Gerrards Cross Bookshop from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, April 12.
Who Killed Emerald Isacson? is available now in paperback and Kindle formats and can be found at www.shorturl.at/D7XXn
