Cricketers at a Chorleywood school have showed there are ones for the future after going unbeaten in both the district league and county plate final last season.

The Year 8 sports stars at St Clement Danes had a successful season in cricket, which was of popular demand this summer with England’s famous World Cup win and competitive Ashes tournament.

Going unbeaten in a whole season in one competition is amazing, but the talented group managed to repeat their unbeaten form in the county plate final where they beat Dame Alice Owen’s School convincingly.

Mr Conway, assistant head of PE Faculty at SCD, spoke on the boy’s success.

He said: “Well done to the Year 8 boys cricketers who were unbeaten during the season and won both the district league and county plate final beating Owens, Potters Bar, convincingly in the final.

“They played some outstanding cricket throughout the season, always in the right spirit, and were a credit to themselves and the school. Outstanding performances from Aryan, Max and Calum who captained the side and the rest of the team – Roraigh, Leo, Josh, Ben, Mason, Rufus, Yusuf, Nathan and Dan.

“Well done to all the team on such a fantastic set of results.”
