A post office in Sarratt has been awarded a Hero of Hertfordshire award for their efforts in supporting the community throughout the pandemic.
The post office which is located on The Green in the village was on hand to provide deliveries, essential products and support to the village throughout lockdown.
Tracey Wilson who works together to run the store and the post office with Grainger Biggs and Jane Watson, said that together they went above and beyond for people living in Sarratt and the surrounding areas.
She said: “A lot of people couldn’t get flour so I contacted the mill and got great big sacks of it and sat there weighing all the flour so I could keep our customers going.
“I would go shopping myself and buy the items for the customer, so deliveries never went out without everything on their shopping list.”
Tracey added that all the store volunteers have been “absolutely outstanding” and went out of their way to help the community.
The post office will be presented with the award on December 14.
