WELL DONE: Harrow’s rugby players commended at annual awards ceremony

Having earned themselves the title of Runners Up in the Papa Johns Community Cup, Harrow RFC was excited to commend some of the club’s most outstanding members at this year’s Annual Awards Ceremony.

Billy Argent was named both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year, whilst former youth section player Ben Hutton was named the most improved player of the season.

The Clubman of the Year Award went to Tommy Harrington, Trainer of the Year to Toby Coleman and the Ironman Award to Dan McEvoy.

According to club spokesperson Neil McDonald, Harrow RFC is keen to honour all those who are instrumental to the club’s success behind he scenes, as well as the stars of the pitch.

This year, players Tom Beech and James Taffs were selected for the middlesex RFC team for two county-level matches. In rugby, county level sport is just one rung below international competition.

Finally, celebrating their 100th appearance in the 1st XV this year were Tom Beech, Jeremy Itoje and, of course, Billy Argent.

Everyone at the awards ceremony, held on May 25, enjoyed a meal provided by Summer Kitchen and sourced from Challis Butchers in Bushey.

Having finished in the top half of its league, Harrow RFC is already looking forward to its next season.
