A popular pink pub in Tring has been awarded for its great selection of ales.
The King’s Arms has stood in the Tring Triangle for more than 200 years; its iconic red facade now faded to pink acting as a testament to its longevity.
Residents were surprised when owners John and Vicky put the pub up for sale after more than 30 years. But landlord Rob has kept its legacy going since buying the pub in 2014, and is now celebrating winning the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Overall Champion Pub of the Year award 2024.
Rob told TRINGnews: “It’s a very traditional pub with no electronic distractions, no TVs or jukebox and no gaming machines. Just a darts board, tables and chairs, and locals who want to have a chat.”
The landlord described receiving the news about the award: “It was a hell of a shock but something we feel really proud about. Me and my manager Gavin choose the right beers, looking at what’s popular and trying to promote local breweries.
“Seeing our hard work recognised is fantastic! But this wouldn’t be a thing without the staff who do all the hard work. We wouldn’t be here without them.”
