After a four-year absence, Evergreen Football Club hosted their six-a-side tournament on the weekend of June 24 and 25, and welcomed teams from across Herts, Beds and Bucks.
For the first time in the history of the club, they were able to run their very first girls’ tournament on the Saturday, followed by the boys’ tournament on the Sunday. Overall, Evergreen welcomed 170 teams.
The club linked up with Peace Hospice Care and Mind as their charity partners for the event.
Funds raised through the tournament will support manager/coach development and training materials for the youth section of the club.
Club chairman Mark Ward said: “The day itself saw players from Under 8 through to Under 15 taking part across both days, and all teams who took part had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
“To run a tournament of this size, which is arguably one of the biggest in the county, takes a huge amount of organisation.
“I must thank our tournament directors and the heaps of Evergreen volunteers for making this weekend such a brilliant event.”
