Watford and Bushey Bridge Club managed to raise £1,000 for a Peace Hospice Care in Watford through a face-to-face bridge drive and lunch at the Blue Check restaurant in Bushey.
Members were absolutely delighted during the January 19 event, as for many, this was their first game of in-person bridge in nearly two years and an opportunity to meet up with old friends.
Most members have either had to play bridge online or not play at all and they said it was a huge relief to get back to a game of regular bridge with real cards and players around the table.
Prizes donated for the charity raffle came from Andrews fruit shop in Bushey Heath, St James Restaurant in Bushey, Carpenders Park Nursery and several others.
