WELCOME BACK: Line-up for returning Rickmansworth Festival revealed

Published on: 25th April 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

The line-up for the Rickmansworth Festival, which is taking place for the first time in two years, has been announced.

The 27th edition of the event since it first started in 1993, it’s being held on May 21 and May 22 at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome and along the canal towpath.

It’s been unable to be held as of late due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, but organisers the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust (RWT) will be happy to get things up and running again.

Attending residents can expect a plethora of live music, with various choirs, bands, solo performers and dance groups taking to the three stages on the festival site.

Genres such as jazz, rock, country, spoken word, folk, pop, alternative, house and more will be featured, with local performers and beyond providing the musical backdrop to event, where a funfair and canal boat trips will also be attending, amongst stalls and other additions.

A fly past from a Supermarine Spitfire on the Saturday and an Avro Lancaster on the Sunday has also been organised, with the former coming by the festival at 3:35pm and the latter flying through at 11:20am.

Information on what happens may still change closer to the date. There is no charge for admission to the festival, but donations to the RWT from visitors are encouraged.
