‘We might need a bit of luck’ against champions, says Cathcart

Watford defender, Craig Cathcart, told the MyNews team ‘we might need a bit of luck at times’ against Man City, but is hoping for a better performance than the hammering they received against Liverpool.

Craig, who played in the 5-0 defeat away at Anfield last month, knows it will be a tough game against Man City but outlined the boys are “100 per cent prepared”.

He said: “We know we might need a bit of luck at times, but hopefully we can get a good performance and a good result.

“As a defender, personally we know it’s going to be difficult but it’s the whole team structure which will help.

“Since Leicester, we have been working all week on the Man City game, working tactics on how we can deny their threats. We know it’s going to be tough but we are going to be 100 per cent prepared for the game.”

Craig explained the team have been working on defending crosses, which was their kryptonite against Liverpool.

He added: “We were disappointed with the goals we conceded (against Liverpool), we have been working on crosses this week so we can do better in that respect.

“Conceding the early goal didn’t help as it put us on the back foot and they capitalised on it. We will try to do a lot of things differently against City.”
