Sleigh bells ringing in Watford can only mean that the countdown to Christmas has begun.
Winterfest, a free community event, is set to bring town centre visitors an early present from 2pm on Saturday, November 15.
Visitors can expect funfair rides, food and drink stalls, a High Street parade and, of course, an appearance from Santa Claus himself.
The Winterfest parade, featuring a marching band, costumed characters and more, will begin at 4pm outside McDonald’s on the Lower High Street.
The town’s spectacular LED Christmas light installations are also returning for their seventh year. Funded by Watford Town Centre BID in partnership with Watford Borough Council, the lights will be switched on during Winterfest at around 4.30pm and will continue to illuminate the town centre every evening until January.
Kara Mesiano, BID manager of Watford Town Centre, said: “We are delighted to once again be delivering a festive event to mark the beginning of the Christmas celebrations in Watford town centre.”
