A woman in Watford has been fined after she admitted flytipping. Last July, Environmental Crime Officers from Watford Borough Council were called to the council depot on the Boundary Way estate where they found a number of black bags and laundry bags containing a mixture of household and general waste. Evidence was found that related the rubbish to Samantha Wright of Magpie Place. Wright was interviewed last July and admitted dumping the rubbish. Earlier this month, she appeared at Watford Magistrates Court where she pleaded guilty to flytipping. She was sentenced to a fine of £130, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £650 prosecution costs. Anyone who sees someone in the act of flytipping is encouraged to report it by telephone on 0203 567 6900 or via the ‘Report it’ link on the homepage of the council website.
