Prime Minister David Cameron hosted a reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate achievements in teaching and two teachers from Watford were invited. Richard Harrington MP invited Anne Heywood of The Grove Academy, and Deborah Warwick of the Francis Combe Academy to the reception in honour of teachers from across the UK. They met David Cameron and discussed their work providing a great education for Watford Students. Prime Minister David Cameron said: “Delivering the best schools and skills for our young people, so that they can fulfil their potential, is a central part of our long-term economic plan. With such dedicated and inspiring teachers in our schools I know we can ensure our children get the best chance to succeed. It was an honour to celebrate their commitment at this reception.” Richard Harrington said “The Grove Academy and Frances Combe are two brilliant local schools, working extremely hard to give students an enriching education. I’ve visited the schools many times and seen the amazing work both Deborah and Anne do to give pupils the best start in life.” Deborah Warwick said: “Last week I had the pleasure of attending a reception at 10 Downing Street following an invite from the Prime Minister.  This reception was to celebrate Teachers and Teaching. Whilst at the reception I took the chance to share with David Cameron, and few other MPs, what an amazing place our Academy is and how proud I am to lead such an inspirational team of staff and an amazing group of young people. I never miss a chance to talk about Francis Combe Academy!”
