Watford have signed England Under-19 International Ben Wilmot from Stevenage on a five-year deal.
The Golden Boys are thought to have paid £1 million to capture the services of the promising defender.
Wilmot made 15 appearances for the league two outfit last season.
Watford have been long term admirers of the high talented centre half with a £500,000 bid turned down in January.
The Hornets first summer signing took to Twitter following the confirmation of his transfer;
“Really buzzing and immensely proud to have signed for @WatfordFC. It’s the stuff that dreams are made of. Massive thanks to everyone who has made this happen. The hard work doesn’t stop and can’t wait for pre-season and cracking on!”
