Richard Harrington MP said he would “definitely” resign as a minister to stop a no-deal Brexit.
The Conservative MP for Watford and business minister was quizzed by BBC Newsnight on January 7 about his position on Brexit.
The reporter asked: “You’re absolutely determined to stop no deal – if it means resigning as a minister, would you do that?”
The MP responded: “Definitely, I would. The Prime Minister knows everybody’s views and I think my view is not an uncommon one.”
Despite his strong stance, Mr Harrington backed Theresa May to find a solution.
He added: “We fully support the Prime Minister’s deal and I think it will get through.”
Britain will leave the European Union on March 29 this year.
