Watford Community Housing Trust is able to proceed with the £8 million regeneration of Boundary Way following planning approval by Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council. The Trust plans to build 56 new affordable homes, renew two playing areas, build a new community garden, and provide a new ‘community hub’ including a shop and a meeting space for local residents at Boundary Way – which straddles both local authority areas. Following planning committee meetings in September both authorities have consented to the development, meaning the Trust can start on site by the end of the year Euan Barr, Head of New Business at Watford Community Housing Trust, said: “The Trust is delighted to have secured planning consent for the project, having worked for two years to ensure we have the right solution for new homes and better facilities at Boundary Way. We hope to achieve a site start in December 2014 to deliver much needed affordable homes for Watford and Three Rivers, in a much improved setting.”
