Published on: 13th July 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

A day at the races came to a care home in Watford this month so residents could enjoy it from the comfort of their armchairs.

Prince Michael of Kent Court Care Home welcomed Honeybee the Shetland pony among other guests who took part in the day’s fun and games, going from room to room meeting the delighted residents.

Among them was Dorothy Morrow (pictured) who enjoyed spending time with the gentle pony.

Staff dressed up as jockeys and even a pantomine horse to gee up everyone at the Home. Residents also enjoyed a flutter with chocolate prizes and a special afternoon tea.

Home Activities Coordinator, Tracy Lydon, said: “We wanted to create a special day at the races which all of our residents could enjoy.

“Everyone had a fantastic time and they especially loved meeting Honeybee. There was a wonderful atmosphere here, one we won’t forget.”
