Filming for the new Harry Potter TV series began at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden last month.
The original Harry Potter movies were filmed at the studios from 2000 to 2010, with the final instalment released in cinemas in 2011.
The new TV show will feature eight series, each based on one of the eight Harry Potter books. Filming officially began on Monday, July 14.
A mini-town has reportedly been created at the studios for the new HBO Original show, which includes a school for the young actors and a medical centre.
Permission for the school on an existing backlot at the studios was granted by Three Rivers District Council on Thursday, July 11. It will be used as a school for around 150 young actors on average, rising to 600 during peak periods.
The temporary school will consist of prefabricated portacabin type structures, and pupils will arrive and depart via private coaches. The school will operate from 5.30am to 8.30pm Monday to Friday, with pupils attending at various times throughout the day.
Three newcomers – Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton – will play the roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione respectively. Joining them will be Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Professor Snape, and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy.
The filming will take place over the next 10 years, with the first series of the TV show expected to be released in 2027.
