With our wedding just two weeks away, we took a rare evening to unwind—and found ourselves at the Summer BBQ at Sopwell House, a night that turned out to be something truly special.
From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the tone. The setting was relaxed, elegant, and inviting—a perfect backdrop for a summer evening. But what made the night extraordinary wasn’t just the food. It was the care. Every detail, from the layout of the garden BBQ to the attentive staff, felt considered and heartfelt.
We were particularly touched by the service from Dennis, one of the fantastic team members and a fellow Filipino. His warm and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home—he brought a touch of joy that made the experience unforgettable.
The food? A dream. The salad station offered an eclectic, flavour-packed mix—our top picks were the summer corn with avocado, olives, and tomato, and a standout tenderstem broccoli with coconut, edamame, and mustard. For mains, guests could choose from a grill selection including beef steaks, Thai red curry salmon, pork and apple sausages, tandoori chicken, and harissa halloumi. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour.
We ended the evening with a table full of summer-inspired desserts—light, fresh, and delicious. It wasn’t just a meal. It felt like a warm hug. The entire experience reminded us why Sopwell House is so beloved—not just for events, but for moments that matter.
