Radlett Girlguiding is “urgently” appealing for more volunteers to keep running its units.
Help is needed to keep units open in the Girlguiding Radlett district, which covers the WD7 postcode. The group currently runs 10 units – three Rainbows, four Brownies, two Guides, and one Rangers – across the district, with 40 volunteers helping 175 girls to benefit from Girlguiding.
For safety reasons, the units must adhere to strict adult to child ratios, and all volunteers need a DBS check, two character referees and online safeguarding training.
A spokesperson for Radlett Girlguiding said: “We are getting to a position where unless we can find more adult volunteers then one or more of the units may have to close. Guiding is modern and flexible – we find a way that works for our volunteers.”
