VITAL HUB: Northwood arts charity helps children ‘feel safe and accepted’

Published on: 10th January 2026   |   By: Naomi Greenaway   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Northwood-based charity is providing support for children, young people and families across Hillingdon as the demand for mental health services continues to rise.

Arts for Life Project works with over 200 young people every week and offers creative art sessions, therapeutic support and community groups.

Attendees include children who experience anxiety, depression, school-related trauma, and long waiting times for ADHD or ASD assessments.

Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, one parent said: “Arts for Life has changed everything for us. My child walks through those doors, and their whole body softens. They feel safe, accepted, and finally able to be themselves. We honestly don’t know what we’d do without this place.”
