VILLAGE SHOW: Countdown is on to Chalfont St Giles’ show of the year

Published on: 15th August 2019   |   By: Dean Shaw   |   Category: Uncategorized

The countdown is on to one of the biggest events of the year as Chalfont St Giles Show is set to take place in early September.

The annual event will take place on Saturday, September 7, at Stone and Silsden Meadow with tickets on sale now with discounts on offer if booked in advance.

Doors open to the showcase event at 11.30am with the all action family fun day running until 6pm.

A variety of competitions, stalls and a show area where a stunt team and the UK’s number one freestyle motocross team will perform.

The organising of each show starts as soon as the previous one finishes and organisers are appealing for volunteers for this year’s event.

On their website they said: “The Chalfont St Giles Show doesn’t just happen every year. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and effort to make it a success by a dedicated army of volunteers in the months leading up to the event.

“With the event attracting several thousand people every year, organisation and planning is critical to the success of the show.

“Without such a positive driving force behind the event, it would either cease to exist, or be of a poor, sub-standard quality.

“We are currently on the lookout for volunteers wishing to contribute to the show, by helping out on-the day. For more information on how you can help, please read more on the website.”

The community show donated all profits from the event to local community groups who have previously applied to benefit from the profits.

Parking is free for the event and tickets are priced in advance for £7 for adults, £4 for under 18s, £6 for over 65s and £18 for a family ticket.
