This month’s historical photo was very kindly sent over to us by Mr. Martin Schroeder, a lovely family photo from just over 100 years ago.
It shows his great uncle Walter punting on the Rickmansworth Aquadrome in 1931, accompanied by his friend, A. W. Pinter, and his girlfriend, Ena, who would later become his wife.
The group lived in Hampstead, London at the time, so this photograph shows what was probably a charming day out for the trio.
The three set off for a trip along the town’s famous water feature with a full set of china tea service with them as well, so they could enjoy a relaxing drink on their boat trip.
Do you have any family photo memories of Rickmansworth that you’d be happy to share? If so, feel free to send them to us at newsdesk@mynewsmag.co.uk, and they could feature in a future magazine.
