Village events will remember those who sacrificed themselves

The Kings Langley Parish Council (KLPC) plan to hold two events this year to remember those who sacrificed themselves during the First World War. Paul Dunham, clerk to KLPC, told My Kings News that the first event will be held on Remembrance Sunday, November 8 and then there is a more low key affair on Remembrance Day itself. He said: “We plan to do the usual event on the Sunday this year at the All Saints Church at 3pm on November 8. “The KLPC will provide refreshments to those that attend and it is normally packed there, with the scouts attending and numerous people.” Paul then explained that the KLPC have resurrected an old Remembrance Day tradition for November 11. “We have moved the Remembrance Day event to the war memorial from the high street, where we have held it the last three years,” added Paul. “It will be a very sombre event and we have a woman who will play the bugle just before 11am to mark the occasion and then we remember those who lost their lives in World War One.”
