The Chalfont St Peter and Chalfont St Giles branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) is currently celebrating a momentous year of donations- but are already looking ahead to the rest of 2023 and are appealing for new volunteers.
The two Poppy Appeals run by the charity, as well as a number of other fundraising events, raised a total of £20,000 to help the RBL continue to provide support for Armed Forces veterans.
The organisation maintained a major presence in the two villages through 2022, taking part in the annual Remembrance Sunday parades, fundraising outside the Co-Op in Chalfont St Peter, and hosting a stall at this year’s Chalfont St Giles on the Green event.
Chair of the local branch, Trevor York said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all who donated to the 2022 appeal!
“I know this is a bit early for this year’s effort, but we always need new volunteers to distribute boxes of poppies to shops, businesses, pubs and schools. If you are interested, please get in touch!”
