A Watford performing arts studio has been awarded honours after coming first in the Music Theatre Chorus section of the Watford Festival.
The Dan Tien entered its Musical Theatre Company into the festival competition last month. The group won the category with a score of 86 out of 100.
Speaking to WATFORDnews, Amy Lazzerini, one of the directors at The Dan Tien, said: “I was delighted that their hard work paid off – again! They sung beautifully and are a very talented group of young people who work incredibly hard.”
The group spent three months rehearsing arrangements of Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins and America from West Side Story before their successful performance.
Amy added: “The company worked on these pieces throughout January to March, working with me to perfect both the singing and the movement.”
This marks The Dan Tien’s fourth year at the Watford Festival, which also saw 10-year-old Soni Bhandari commended in Solo Acting.
