Hertfordshire Police have provided an update on the suspected human remains found in the River Chess in Rickmansworth yesterday morning (Wednesday, November 3).
The remains are currently undergoing forensic testing and inquiries continuing following the discovery.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: “Police were called at 9.52am on Wednesday 3 November to reports that suspected human remains had been discovered in the River Chess in Rickmansworth.
“Detectives from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit attended the location and a scene guard was put in place before enquiries begun.
“The remains have now been recovered and are currently undergoing forensic testing.
The scene guard has now been lifted and the police inquiry is continuing.”
