A Watford mother has paid tribute to her husband and father of her son after he tragically died after a medical emergency at a leisure centre.
Sadhna Desi Raval has hailed her late husband Jay Raval, describing him as “a caring father, a loving husband, and a truly kind soul”.
Jay sadly passed away on January 17, six days after he was treated by emergency services at South Oxhey Leisure Centre before being taken to Harefield hospital. His funeral was held on February 6 with more than 70 people in attendance.
Sadhna told WATFORDnews that Jay’s passing “has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him”.
Jay also has a son, who is just five-years-old and attends Malvern Way Primary School in Croxley. Sadhna shared the heavy loss their family and friends have been feeling.
She said: “He was a down to earth, family man who always thought of others before himself. He made sure everyone smiled and often supported charities.
“Jay was an incredible person and that is reflected by the fact that he donated his lungs, kidney, and liver, saving five lives today. Even in his final moments, he gave the greatest gift, life.
“There hasn’t been a single time, our son hasn’t asked for his daddy. They would often be building Lego together or painting, that was the last thing they did together.
“Our son doesn’t know how to react, the school have done so much to try and support him. Jay’s son is very proud of his daddy, and so are we. We are endlessly proud of Jay.”
A fundraising page has been set up to support Jay’s family. Currently, the total raised stands at £10,675. To donate visit www.shorturl.at/CqT6z
