A Croxley councillor is taking on three marathons in a month to raise money for charity.
Throughout May, councillor Chris Lloyd will run three marathons for ovarian cancer charity Ovacome.
Cllr Lloyd will start with the Milton Keynes Marathon on Monday, May 5, followed by the Leeds Marathon six days later, then a two-week rest before the Edinburgh Marathon.
Speaking to CROXLEYnews, cllr Lloyd said: “Running any marathon is tough; running three in a month is not something I have done before.
“The reason I am doing three marathons for Ovacome is because having cancer is tough and I want to show my solidarity for my friend, who has stage four ovarian cancer.”
Cllr Lloyd prefers to run with friends and is planning a long run in April, where friends will come and run anything between 5km and 10km.
Not content with just three marathons, cllr Lloyd will be taking on a further three marathons in October for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood.
