Kings Langley FC have renamed their stadium’s club bar after Hemel resident Trevor Dealey, their groundsman who recently passed away.
Visitors looking for a drink at the Lango’s home ground of the Orbital Fasteners’ Stadium will now get their beverages at the newly named Trev’s Bar.
The decision to make the change was a unanimous one made by the board of directors, not long after they also held a tribute event called Trev’s Day on Monday, May 27, to pay their respects to their much-loved friend.
Trevor died in May three weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest while on holiday in Mexico. Though the community raised £27,000 to help bring him home after an insurance issue left him stranded, Trev passed away on Friday, May 24.
His funeral took place on Thursday, May 20, with dozens of people from Kings langley turning out to say their last goodbyes to a fondly remembered member of the community.
Following the service at West Herts Crematorium, mourners came to the wake at the clubhouse, where at the request of Trevor’s family, they all watched England v Denmark in the Euros together.
