Published on: 1st June 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

The landowner of a site along West Hyde Lane, past Robertswood School, has chopped down several large trees of 75 metres length and removed a hedgerow that belonged to Buckinghamshire Council.

The perpetrator did not ask for any permission before taking this action.

Councillor Jonathan Rush, writing on Facebook of what happened mentioned that many residents will have been shocked by the recent environmental vandalism.

He wrote: “Chalfont St Peter Parish Council has urged Buckinghamshire Council to take enforcement (legal) action, as swiftly as possible, against the perpetrators to ensure trees are replanted and other would-be vandals deterred.

“A planning application has now been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council to build a brick stable on the greenbelt site. The parish council has expressed concern that the Tree and Ecology Checklist is incorrect.”

The application can be viewed on the Buckinghamshire Council website, View Planning Applications ref. PL/20/1031/FA.
