Passengers travelling from Apsley and Kings Langley will no longer need to buy a ticket as the train stations will go contactless later this month.
Fourteen stations operated by London Northwestern Railway (LNR) will introduce contactless technology from Sunday, September 22.
Passengers will be able to use their bank card or smart device to tap-in on station readers and will automatically be charged the best adult fare for their journey.
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said: “This welcome investment means even more of our passengers travelling in the southeast of England will have access to pay-as-you-go with contactless technology.
“This new way to pay will give our customers at these stations greater choice and flexibility over how they use the railway.”
Other stations which will soon offer contactless payment include Berkhamsted, Tring, Park Street, Hemel Hempstead, Watford North, Garston, and St Albans Abbey.
