TRASH TROUBLE: Northwood residents complain about ‘health hazard’ left-out rubbish bags

Published on: 12th July 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two Northwood residents are concerned about full bin bags being left out on a Northwood street and want to see council action to prevent it from happening again.

The residents on Colchester Road, who wish to remain anonymous, state that neighbour of theirs has been leaving out their bin bags on the wrong day of bin collection, meaning they sit there for a whole week before being collected.

This then causes a bad smell to pervade the area, which has become especially prevalent in the hot summer days. It also attracted flies to the bags, further making the street a more unpleasant place to walk in.

One of the anonymous residents said to Northwood&RuislipNews: “This has happened before. We have our rubbish collection on Monday morning, but this rubbish is left out on Tuesdays.

“It is a health hazard, especially in hot weather.  I have reported three other instances, the council has eventually taken it away, but there seem to be no penalties. Please can you do something about it?

Hillingdon Borough Council have been contacted for comment.
