A Marvel toy dubbed to be “one of the rarest stretch toys in existence” is to be auctioned by a Kings Langley auction house this month.
While the green and scary face of the Hulk may be familiar to most, the stretch toy is one of only 30 known examples of the original figures from 1979 known to exist.
Produced by Denys Fisher, it comes directly from its original owner who begged for one when he was a child.
Because his mother knew someone who worked at the toy company, his mother managed to purchase one straight off the production line.
The figure was filled with corn syrup to enable it to stretch and was made using the same latex and gel moulds as those used for the popular Stretch Armstrong figures.
Excalibur Auctions reportedly shared that the Hulk figure comes with its original instructions and has not been offered for sale since it was purchased over 50 years ago.
The toy will go under the hammer at the Excalibur Auctions Vintage Toy Diecast Models and Model Railways auction on Saturday, July 26, with an estimated value of £3,000 to £5,000.
