An Indian restaurant in Radlett has continued to show its support and dedication to the NHS staff by donating free takeaway meals to their staff during the pandemic.
Aroma Lounge, located on Battlers Green Drive, decided to give away the free meals as a thank you for all their hard work.
Speaking to RadlettNews, the manager of the restaurant, Humayun Rashid said: “We all are fully aware of how difficult it has been for the staff at the NHS, and with the second lockdown we thought it was vital that we offered our services to them once again for free.
“It’s so important that we as a community do whatever we can to make life a little bit easier for them, and if that means just ensuring they have a nice meal, then that’s what we’ll do.”
According to Mr Rashid, the offer has been taken up by many, with more and more people coming in.
He added: “The reaction from the NHS staff has been great so far and it’s good for us to see that we’re helping out in some way. We’re having at least 10-15 people coming each day.
“We’ll be carrying it on until at least the end of this lockdown, so we urge them to come in and take home a free meal if they can.”
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page read: “As a token of our appreciation we would like to offer free meals on all collection orders to all NHS staff members.
“We understand that during these long, busy and exhausting hours that you may not have the time to go shopping or cook and we would like to provide you with a nutritious meal.
“Thank you each and everyone of you for your amazing hard work during this pandemic and we mean everyone from volunteers to all ancillary, administrative and clinical staff. You are all wonderful people.”
One example of the messages of gratitude they’ve received is a comment on their post, which reads: “Such a touching gesture. We as a whole family will never forget your human gesture.
