Hemel Hempstead has been ranked as the eighth best town in Yopa’s London Commuter Guide for 2023.
The top 10 towns were given a score out of 100 which was based on the London terminus station, the cost of a season ticket , the duration of the fastest train to London, and the average house price.
Hemel received a score of 81.8, with house prices averaging £438,878, the fastest train taking 32 minutes, and a season ticket costing £4,444. Yopa found that there were 35 schools in the area that were rated as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Nine other towns were selected for the list, including St Albans at number five with a score of 84, Stevenage at number seven with a score of 82.5, and Letchworth at number 10 with a score of 77.6.
The top ranked areas in the guide were Woking with a score of 100, Reading with a score of 96.8, and Slough with a score of 93.
