An Indian restaurant in Abbots Langley has been shortlisted for the prestigious Good Food Awards 2024.
Abbots Tandoori in Langley Road is one of just 10 Indian restaurants across the country to be shortlisted.
Their nomination was submitted by judges who initially chose the top 100 Indian restaurants in the UK, before selecting the final 10.
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in November.
This nomination follows other recent success for Abbots Tandoori, as they are also now the number one ranked Indian restaurant in Hertfordshire on Tripadvisor. They were also shortlisted for the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards, which are considered the Oscars of the Indian food industry.
Owner Emon Chowdhury told Abbots News: “We’re very excited, honoured and thankful for reaching the final. We’ve won several awards, but this one is special as they chose us.
“The process is very rigorous and included a mystery dinner on three separate busy nights, on a weekend, a weekday and finally on an event night.
“It’s all credit to the team and the chef, Kalam, who has been with us more than 25 years. We’ve had the same team for a while, with the main thing being that everyone is experienced.
“Our success is only possible thanks to our customers, who have been amazing since day one.
“The future is also promising and we have some exciting announcements coming up, so our customers can look out for that.”
