The Russell School in Chorleywood has been thanked by the Minister of State for School Standards, Nick Gibb MP, after their results showed 100 per cent of pupils reached or exceed the expected standard at the end of Key Stage 2.
The results were published back in December and it’s now been revealed that they are in the top one per cent in the UK for reading and mathematics.
The letter from Mr Gibb MP, that was received in February, read: “The Government want to ensure that every child has the fluency in reading and mathematics necessary to prepare them for a successful secondary education and beyond, which is why I was delighted to see your results.
“Thank you for your work in continuing the drive towards higher academic standards, and congratulations again to you and your staff for your commitment and success.”
Well done to The Russell School. We are the joint highest performing school in the country for our average scaled score in maths this year and second highest performing school for our average scaled score in reading. Outstanding achievement!
